As part of the 64th National conference of the Association of Physiologists and Pharmacologists of India at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, a one-day Workshop will be conducted on “Basic techniques in histology and immunohistology for research on plant based extracts”.

Importance of the Workshop:
Animal models of various diseases and the drugs used in the therapy of these conditions require histological assessment to identify changes associated with disease and therapy.
Postgraduates and junior faculty in pharmacology and physiology and other health professionals who are interested in animal experiments.
This workshop aims at training the researcher in the basic techniques in collecting of tissues, their processing, preservation and preparation for various histology and immunohistology procedures.
This workshop includes demonstration of the following techniques during animal experiments:
- Harvesting the tissues from laboratory animals
- Preservation of tissues
- Prepare a paraffin block (For storage or transfer to histology lab).
- Slide preparation
- H & E staining procedure
- Steps in Immunohistology procedures.
