Dr. Suman Jain, PhD, AIIMS New Delhi
Dr Suman Jain is Professor at department of Physiology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. She is a neurophysiologist and her areas of interest and expertise are synaptic plasticity and neuroregeneration. She did her graduation in Human Biology from AIIMS and then obtained her Ph.D. degree in Physiology from AIIMS, Delhi.
She has been actively involved in deciphering the translational potential of transcranial magnetic field stimulation and the implantation of nanoparticles in spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease using numerous electrophysiological, behavioral and morphological techniques. Besides this she is also involved in understanding the effect of prenatal environmental enrichment on functional development of various brain areas.
She is recipient of AIIMS Research Excellence Award and has number of publications in peer reviewed national and international journals. She is also reviewer of many reputed international and national neuroscience journals and into review committees of various funding agencies. Her hobbies are singing and acting.
